We are partnering with Funds2Orgs to raise money with a conscience.
What do we need from you? Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!
WHY SHOES?
According to a report from the Environmental Protection Agency in 2015:
-
Textiles, including shoes and clothing, represented 16.03M tons and 65.7% of content in landfills.
-
In the U.S., each individual produces 4.48 pounds of daily waste, which includes shoes that are thrown away
-
85% of consumer textiles end up in landfills, which is extremely harmful to the environment
Developing Counties around the world:
The Funds2Orgs Group seeks to provide an opportunity for people to help themselves out of poverty. The gently worn, used and new shoes that are collected are shipped to many micro-enterprise partners around the world.
WHERE DO THEY GO?
From Haiti to Cambodia, Ghana to Guatemala, your impact reaches micro-entrepreneurs, sparking economic growth in developing nations. In these nations, adults deprived of job opportunities turn to entrepreneurship, with shoe sales emerging as a vital source of income.
WHAT IS A GOOD SHOE?
A good shoe is given a second life with those in need - gently worn, used and new shoes that are in good condition, clean and still wearable. if you wouldn’t give them to a friend, then they’re not worthy for your collection
